ive-already-said-too-much asked:
when you listen to the score on brian's tumblr and start crying all over again </3
seddm Answer:
He is an amazing composer, apparently an outstanding man, and is extremely good at pinpointing -and writing in a couple of sentences- the meaning of the important scenes he scores. He must really like this show, and not just because he works on it.
Also, he doesn’t hide it. Well, not like there’s anything to hide, it’s very apparent.

YES I’M A SUCK UP BUT AFTER THIS EPISODE I NEEDED TO TELL SOMEONE FROM THE SHOW HOW GOOD IT WAS OK THEY DESERVED IT
This is a quote from The Last Olympian. Basically all the proof you will ever need to show tags Percy would never want to leave New York and go to live at New Rome.

i dont think a series ever made me question my moralities more than pjo. like duh i didnt want luke to succeed in overthrowing the olympians and putting kronos in place but the gods ARE shitty to their kids and minor gods WERE ignored and the demigods were pretty much used to save everyone on olympus’ asses despite what psychological and physical injuries they’d sustain like, that is so fucked up man. i can see why luke did what he did and see that he did it wrong but it makes me wonder what would have happened had percy sided with him and overthrown the gods and what the world might be like
ethan and luke’s characters destroyed my understanding of my own moral compass for years tbh
definitely!!! percy jackson literally shaped my entire moral compass and how i view the world. as someone like luke who had shitty, overprotective, over-expecting parents who never gave me a chance to prove myself, i knew that if I was a demigod, i probably would have joined luke. i probably would have joined magneto’s brotherhood too. and seeing Percy, this abused kid, this kid with so many learning disabilities find his own strength, trust a few people, and still make the right choices no matter how difficult literally helped me understand as a 14-15 year old, that just because I was hurting, and the world is shitty to me, doesn’t give me the right to treat the world shitty too. Percy Jackson was a series that understood that not everything is black and white, and sometimes you just have to pick the lesser evil, and try to change it however you can. Silena’s spying, and her redemption was so important! Grover getting over his anxiety and crippling self-esteem was so important!! Annabeth and Thalia were in the literal same boat as Luke, and they made the right choices in the end, despite anyone and anything.
If anything, Percy Jackson taught me that yeah sometimes you lose things. And that yeah, I maybe a pawn for my damn parents and a pawn in this damn world but I’m not going to sit here and be pushed around, but I’m not gonna bring down the entire world in anarchy either. If I’m gonna be a pawn, I’m gonna fucking do it my way.
This is one of the reasons why I found Heroes of Olympus so disappointing. It didn’t explore any dark and mature themes really, and it was all tied up in a oversized bow to hide all the holes in the plot and that there weren’t any reaaall sad moments that can shape a reader….
